Cam Tuner The Cam Tuner is a plug-and-play solution that compensates for the installation of an aggressive cam. It will work on the Dodge Hemi, SRT-10 and Viper applications. It is designed to be an easy-to-use solution that end users can install and adjust themselves. A more aggressive cam profile is a tried and true way to improve performance. In a speed density engine management application, a more aggressive cam results in less vacuum at idle and light load. This lower vacuum causes the Power Control Module (PCM) to run too rich. The Cam Tuner corrects the fuel curve for the correct fuel mixture at light load. The Cam Tuner features a single internal adjustment that can be used to fine tune for a wide range of cam profiles. A table is provided in the installation instructions that show where to set the adjustment for different idle vacuum readings. Users who have a scan tool can set the Cam Tuner exactly by adjusting for balanced short term and long term fuel trim values. The Cam Tuner can be installed or uninstalled in seconds. It does not cause any trouble codes and its operation does not leave any trace that it was ever there. The Cam Tuner is not a PCM re-flash solution. It is an embedded control solution that works seamlessly with the stock PCM.
